Review: I think that perhaps many of the criticisms of this movie from the 90s-00 young people, because they just DO NOT GET IT! Most of the humor in this movie spoof 1980s films, cast with a few barbs in power from more recent films. I'm a 80's baby, and I laughed so hard during this movie! I saw it with younger children from the mid-90s to late, and they did not get half the jokes. The school cafeteria was named the Anthony Michael Hall dining room. The school is John Hughes High School. Send-ups is a risky business, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles, and absolutely priceless scene, Breakfast Club parody, as well as the original main Breakfast Club, Richard Vernon, spewing almost exactly the same interview. Sure, films (which was terrible) much younger as Varsity Blues, impaled and si all that (which was not worse before.) Theres a hilarious spoof Goals Cruel running gag, a nasty sister at nothing to bed her brother, a high school football hero Jake Wyler, a double stop pineapple bet his staff can clear Jain, boy-hating Janie Griggs turn into the prom queen. Jokes and sex jokes proliferate feces, all hilarious. Jamie Pressly that you may remember from Jerry Springer Ringmaster film is full of struggle as head cheerleader Priscilla, the systems copy the applause; rival schools all-black cheerleaders, spoofing Bring It On. And Siamese twins for Homecoming Queen (s) win an absolute riot, especially when Jake King dance home to several and sing with the band Put your heads on my shoulder .... TOO funny! A hilarious movie, especially if you are high or drunk, and you know what they are spoofing. |
