Review: American Pie starts immediately with shock value, and while the film is based heavily on it, theres a lot of history and unusual activities to keep your interest. I attended a sneak preview of what I was told was a rough cut of the film, but there is only one scene that looked unfinished. The basic story is that of the four secondary high school friends who made a pact with each other to get laid before they graduate, specifically the prom. The problem is, only one of them has a serious girlfriend, and she can not decide if shes ready for sex. But where the film really makes an impact in his numerous masturbation scenes related. In one scene, especially in the beginning of the film, which should test your stomach for the rest of the films humor. Now while the film may not sound like a good morale, there is a repeated basic message, and that is to do what you like and not what they feel pressured to do so. Unfortunately, this is not your kind of movie audiences need to see. At times it does seem like getting laid the most important part of high school. The strength of the film lies in the fact that everyone who came to public high school can relate to some aspects portayed here, and a strong and well-timed performances by the talented cast. If you are mature enough to appreciate the film for its huge comic performances, then you should really enjoy it. But if you like toilet humor, then you can not find anything appealing this. Certainly not a date movie. |
